Our house is far from perfect and while we do our best to make it work, sometimes you need a big project and overhaul to really help bring out the sparkle and shine. Some the challenges we have in our home of 1100 square feet is a serious lack of storage. Whoever designed the renovation that took place about 20 years ago obviously felt that no linen or utility closet of any kind was the way to go.

Well for three humans who homeschool and have a business in this space, the lack of storage is no longer working! Over the winter holidays we decided to tackle the space by our front door. It originally housed an old buffet and hutch that I got from my great uncle. This outdated piece of furniture housed Spiraea’s products, but due to some exciting changes (that I hint at in the video), it is no longer needed.

We decided to completely transform the space and turn it into a functional mud room instead.

If you want to see the transformation process you can check out my YouTube video below. But if you are here for the Ikea shopping list so you can create your own mudroom, you can find that below.

Ikea Shopping List

I am not an affiliate for Ikea, nor do I earn any income from sharing this design with you. We just love their products and are extremely happy with the end product of our mudroom and wanted to share. These links are from IKEA Canada so if you are in another country, you will just have to search for the equivalent in your country.

The two tops baskets and plant were from Winners so I do not have links for those. The suspended light was an Amazon purchase and can be found here (this is not an affiliate link).

The paint colour is called Witching Hour and we just LOVE it.
